1.) Curves for Women has been a life-changing element for me, and for the past 10 years I have had the privilege of building strong bones, of changing fat into muscle, and of body strengthening. Add to all this, the fun of building a camaraderie among a group of fascinating women I have met on the exercise circuit. Tongue in cheek, I once opined that "Curves is a losing proposition. I have lost two saddle bags and a pouch." In the more than 2,000 workouts since that first day, Curves has become a way of life, a way to enjoy being energized and refreshed, and to enjoy the opportunity to exercise at a Curves, available throughout many Colorado cities, and available in every state and many countries.

2.) I joined Curves because of Bonnie. She has a great attitude and is non-judgmental. Working out was a ritual in my past, however the last 5 years I have neglected my health and well-being due to a busy lifestyle. With Curves, there is no reason that you can't fit 30 minutes into your daily schedule. Bonnie encouraged me to give it a try and I love it. It is something I look forward to at the end of my work day, and is a great way to relieve stress. I feel rejuvenated after my work out. Bonnie has been a wonderful circuit coach and a good motivator.

Why do I treasure Curves…let me count the ways,
I treasure thee for the exercise privilege of six days,
And for the instructors-Bonnie, Sharon and Erin,
And all the subs who occasionally come in.

I treasure the opportunity to keep stress at bay,
By exercising regularly day by day,
Plus keeping bones and muscles strong,
Now monitoring the stations as I move along.

I love chatting with each interesting comrade,
Each one who never fails to make me glad,

Each day is challenging, a brand new start.

Will my love for Curves ever cease?
Will I cancel the agreement lease?

For this is really absolutely true love!

4.) This October, 2011 opens my 10th year participating in Curves for Women as I joined shortly after its opening in Gunnison. With the exception of four months recovering from a shoulder surgery, my attendance has been regular in Curves in Gunnison, and during travels in Oregon, in Kansas, in Montana, and in other areas of Colorado.

Exercise has heightened fat burned to muscle, bones made stronger, energy increased, the disappearance of inches and pounds, and the forming of new friendships and the enrichment of on-going friendships. Curves has furnished food do the soul, challenges for the brain, encouragement for the spirit, the provision of a wealth of health information, and the elevation of emotional and physical well-being. Add to that the ability to help others through participation in projects underwritten by Curves for a myriad of community and individual betterment.

As I enter this new passage in my life, I look forward to add to the 2,000 mark in exercises in 2011, and I look forward to a continuum of maintenance of good health, enjoyment in exercising, and treasuring the wonderful, fascinating women you meet at Curves.
