- Directions: From US Highway 50 (approximately 11 miles east of Gunnison), turn north onto County Road 76 at Parlin. Proceed approximately 14.5 miles until just before the town of Pitkin. As you pass the Pitkin Fish Hatchery on your right, look for a large dirt road
on your left, about .1 mile after the Hatchery. This is the entrance to Quartz Creek Properties. You will see a sign and a stone gateway which says "Quartz Creek" and a dirt parking area where you may park trailers if needed. Go left, through the gateway, on Chicago Park Road. Follow Chicago Park Road for about ¾ mile until you come to a well-market "Y" intersection. Go left onto Grasshopper Road (there are signs and the road is well marked) and look for the next opportunity to turn left on Star Pointer Road. Proceed up Star Pointer to the second driveway on
your right (which is directly across from the big log house with the green roof). Turn right (you'll see a green sign with #240 on the tree at the beginning of the driveway) and drive all the way to the end. There are a couple of short steep spots on the road, and all-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive is recommended.
